What
is CNC machining?
CNC machining refers to machining whereas the machine tool operates
under numerical control. CNC stands for computer numerical control.
CNC machines are programmed with a cnc machining language commonly referred
to as g-code. The CNC machining g-code language tells the cnc machine
the cartesian coordiantes through which the cutter (end mill) should
pass. The CNC machining g-code language also controls feed rates and
other functions of the CNC machine such as spindle speeds, tool changers,
coolant, etc. Euromachine
Corp. specializes in CNC Machining of close tolerance components, with
1 to 100 micron accuracy.
What
is EDM?
Electrical Discharge Machining, EDM is one of the most accurate
manufacturing processes available for creating complex or
simple shapes and geometries within parts and assemblies.
EDM works by eroding material in the path of electrical discharges
that form an arc between an electrode tool and the work piece.
EDM manufacturing is very desirable when low counts or high
accuracy is required. Turn around time can be fast and depends
on manufacturer back log.
The EDM system consists of a shaped tool or wire electrode,
and the part. The part is connected to a power supply. Sometimes
to create a potential difference between the work piece and
tool, the work piece is immersed in a dielectric fluid which
is circulated to flush away debris.
The cutting pattern is CNC controlled. Our EDM machine electrodes
can rotate three axis allowing for cutting of internal cavities. Euromachine Corp. specializes in difficult
work, from high precision, close tolerance projects that demand
a wire diameter down to .001" and including cutting pieces
up to 18.5" thick.
We manufacture
prototypes
of all types from proof-of-concept and preproduction
prototypes for Beta unit testing as well as complete
prototype systems.
We specialize
in in low to medium production runs. We are confident
that we can fulfill your production machining needs.
The lathe department can
accommodate parts requiring a 100.0 cm (39.4 in) swing and
a 200.7 cm (79.0 in) turning length. Additionally, accuracy
to 0.00038 cm (0.00015 in) and repeatability to 0.0020 cm
(0.0008 in) can be maintained. Finally, part probing, high
pressure coolant, programmable tailstocks, and scale feedback
systems facilitate the machining of even the most complex
components. The milling group specializes in
4 and 5-Axis machining, utilizing vertical, horizontal, and
trunnion style machining centers. The computer aided manufacturing
system used to develop the complex contoured surfaces provides
simultaneous two through Five-Axis tool paths in conjunction
with fully associative parametric 3D modeling.
Euromachine
Corp. is proud to take care of your reverse engineering
needs. With the use of our CMM, we digitally map out the outside
shape, contour and any holes that may be in your existing
part. We then transfer that to our CAD software where we begin
to reconstruct your piece. After digitization we create the
3d surface that was on your existing part.
We then use our CAM software to produce a path for our CNC
mills to cut the desired 3d contour on your part. The last
step is to Wire EDM the final profile that was digitized.
